I will be delivering this intensive half day course in three parts:
Part 1: Demonstrating Impact to Funders:
Through this course you will gain increased confidence and improved knowledge of how to demonstrate what difference your organisation makes to society – and how you can prove it. This is something all charity workers will be familiar with. Measuring and evidencing impact is a central part of any charity’s work; but what are funders really looking for before parting with their money? This is your opportunity to find out.
Part 2: Strengthening your Case for Support and Elevator Pitch:
The idea behind having an elevator speech is that you are prepared to share this information with anyone, at anytime, even in an elevator. The great thing about elevator pitches is that they can be crafted to cover a variety of settings, enable you to enhance your charity’s image (or another subject matter you are pitching) and help you to seize non-obvious opportunities. Whether your organization has a case statement and ‘elevator pitch or not, this is your opportunity to make sure that it “so compelling that the person you’re with wants to hear more even after the [hypothetical] elevator ride is over”.
Part 3: Practical Session – Pitching before the Funder
To cap it off, you will get to practice both your impact and pitch before a real funder and get invaluable face to face feedback. We will be joined by a Grants Manager from Arts Council England who will also be revealing their brand new guidelines and answering questions about what it takes to get a grant from them.
