It is designed to help attendees win at putting strong bids together and receiving grants from Funders.
Participants will be taken through the whole life cycle of the Bid Writing process including Project Design and Development, Monitoring & Evaluation, Impact Measuring & Reporting, Partnership Working and Meaningful Collaborations as well as Developing Lasting Relationships with Funders.
All attendees will get the opportunity to work on their own bids as well as gain insight into putting different types of applications together.
Bill Bruty has been a professional fundraiser since 1984. Over those 30 years Bill has had experience of every fundraising method, from direct mail, community fundraising to raising money from companies and charitable trusts. He has been a senior manager or Director of Marketing for four national charities in the UK: Scope, BTCV, Children’s Aid Direct and FARM-Africa.
In 1998 Bill established his own fundraising training and consultancy business.
Bill also helps organisations to develop and improve their fundraising strategies and current clients include: New Economics Foundation; the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA); the British Stammering Association, Parkinson’s UK and Sightsavers. Alongside working with the larger charities, Bill also supports small community groups. Working with local NGOs, mainly in East Africa, is another strand to his fundraising.
Bill has developed and run training courses and consultancy projects all over the world. Since 1998, he has had extensive experience of supporting fundraising by local NGOs in Africa.
Bill provides consultancy and training service for grant makers, in order to support their beneficiaries. Recently he has undertaken such work for GAME group plc, the MAN Group Charitable Trust and Porticus UK.
A fundraising trainer since 1992, Bill is recognised as one of the most experienced and knowledgeable fundraisers in the UK, especially in the field of grantseeking from charitable trusts and government bodies.
In 2012, Bill was elected as a Fellow of the Institute of Fundraising in the UK.
Carol Akiwumi BSc (Hons), MA (Hons), MTh, FInstF is the CEO of RAA Solutions, a creative fundraising and training consultancy practice.
Carol is a Social Entrepreneur with a passion for Capacity Building, Stewardship and Diversity. She enjoys helping individuals, organisations and communities unlock their potential in those areas.
She has over 10 years fundraising experience, for a wide range of organisations and covering most areas, including major gift fundraising, trusts and foundations, community, event, corporate and volunteer development.
A well respected consultant and exceptional trainer, Carol is the Founder and Chair of Money4Youth, an international movement that teaches financial literacy to children and young people. She is also a Trustee and Fellow of the Institute of Fundraising (IOF) as well as the Project Director of the IOF Black Fundraisers UK AVOCADO Project.
